This is my friend artist @johnkleinart. We’ve known each other since about year 11, a little while ago now! He has a pop up exhibition of his work this weekend at Into-Art Studio, 71 Ryedale Road, West Ryde. Beautiful and colourful paintings, stunning scarves (prints of his paintings, I couldn’t resist the colourful one I’m wearing), and textiles including cushion covers, table runners and placemats.
So if you want some art work or Christmas presents with a difference head over this weekend. There’s also a great coffee shop a few doors down and a food ‘event’ (food trucks, a bar, what else do you need?) to celebrate the end of lockdown in Anzac Park behind the shops. So if you live in Sydney head over sometime this weekend.

I am soon to be the lucky owner of this pair of rare vintage Parker wrap around chairs! Restored by the talented @circa_70, thank you so much!
I first saw them two years ago but couldn’t do it then. Now the stars have aligned, I took a deep breath and said, “I’ll take them!” Then the fabric I wanted had been discontinued so I agonized over what to choose in its place to go with other fabrics. I find I am sooooo indecisive choosing things for myself!
2021 is the year I get a bunch of my own upholstery and restoration projects done that have been gathering dust for more than several years!

I had the enormous pleasure of helping clients sel

I had the enormous pleasure of helping clients select colours to update this amazing mid century modern house. The design was similar to an iconic Beachcomber by Nino Sydney, with the lower level a self-contained flat.
It was the family home of four siblings and being done up so they could sell it. Such love for the house and it was certainly a house easy to love. We selected some modern neutrals paired with white and a vibrant tangerine colour for all the external doors. So mid century. And so great they used it in the kitchen as well. It’s projects like this, where the house ends up looking stunning and the clients are delighted with the results, that are so worthwhile.

One silver lining from the pandemic and lockdowns

One silver lining from the pandemic and lockdowns was starting going for a morning walk and looking at the flowers. This morning reaped an offering of fallen frangipani flowers to the Art Glass Gods.
