Welcome to Flow Colour and Design. I’m Fiona Saville, a colour consultant and interior designer based in Sydney.
I believe the right colour scheme can enhance any exterior or improve the mood in any interior space. However, what looks great on one building or in someone else’s lounge room usually won’t look good in your space. Looking at hundreds of shades of white or grey on tiny colour charts can be tricky (at best).
Every space is different. When selecting colours I consider several things, firstly, the style or period of the house or building. Then the surrounding environment, and finally, the look you want to achieve. This might be an entirely new colour scheme, or one that fits in with current furnishings or flooring.
I have been drawn to colour all my life, and as a child I would organise my coloured pencils in the order of the rainbow.
Many years ago I worked with furnishing fabrics, designing window treatments. More recently I started upcycling items of furniture, giving them a new lease of life, and especially like the challenge of revamping pre-loved or (even better) rescued upholstered items.
After many years working in the corporate world in IT, I wanted to add more creativity back into my life. I serendipitously found the International School of Colour and Design (ISCD in North Sydney), and immediately felt at home. Overall, I completed four diplomas in about five and a half years, firstly the Cert IV in Design and then diplomas in Colour Design, Interior Decorating and Interior Design.
Whether you require a new colour scheme, furniture or upholstery sourcing, joinery and benchtop selections, or other aspects of interior decorating, Flow Colour and Design would love to help you.
